I've just had my battery checked and I need a replacement.

I checked Elecsol site and their price for the 110 is £109 with a 5yr warranty. This battery was recommended in a magazine, can't remember which one. A Dynamic Leisure 110 from Chichester Caravans cost £70 with a two year warranty. Does this mean the Elecsol will last 2.5 times as long as the Dynamic?

I tried the Towsure and Halford sites but couldn't find any batteries, where else should I look?

I notice on the Elecsol site that the caravan charger will only charge to 80%, so should remove the battery after each trip and charge on the workshop bench?

Any other makes of battery should I consider?

Which ever battery you do buy, look after it and it will last a long time, make sure that you never let it go flat, don't discharge it to less than 50% and give it a freshening charge to 14.4 volts every now and again. I buy leisure batteries from a caravan shop for about

I had a Numax 110amp leisure battery for 5 plus years before it died. It had a lot of heavy use, especially with a twin axle motor mover.

I have replaced it with the new Numax 113amp sealed unit leisure battery. This battery has been designed for boats and caravans. Especially for large heavy caravans with motor movers. There are three 113amp models, all the same size as the 110amp model. Two of the models have double lugs. My caravan dealer charged me

Many years ago, ( the 80's actually), when I started caravanning my friends and I used to buy the cheapest , largest that would fit, car battery from the local scrap yard for our caravans. There was loads of talk about them being designed for high starting currents and not continual low current drain etc. but they worked fine and when they finally stopped holding their charge we went to the scrappy again.

How complicated life has become!
