Yep £11k on a caravan ;-), then less than a week later found out I have just lost my job :-( (whole place is shutting)...wow what a dilema. Thankfully we are going ahead with the van as we have some kind help with the finance from our parents...and are really looking forward to picking it up on Saturday! As my mum says, we can always move into the van when things get really tough and think of all the free time to spend away in the van ;-)

Anyone else ever been in the same situation...

Paul - so sorry to hear of your job loss, but whatever you do KEEP THE VAN! I was made redundant 4 times in 1994,& after 600 job applications and about 100 interviews have since retrained & now in good job. Our van kept us sane! Even though we had very little money we & the 3 kids had some fabulous weekends and holidays at CL's, for only about
