Hi Sharon.

Looks like they don't want caravaners / campers on their site any more, if everybody boycotted them they would soon get the hint.

Sharon, I do not believe this is the law but may be a Haven regulation you could ask them to quote the section of law to you. I have checked the awning manufactureres and they all still sell bedroom annnexes with no mention of them being illegal. If you have curtains on your awning who knows what you are doing inside it?

Is this a similar law to the that asked about elsewhere in the forum which was quoted by a caravan dealer regarding the banning of 110ah batteries?

What a load of tosh!! ask them what law they are talking about and on whose authority are they implementing it. If they are banning sleeping in awnings they will ban sleeping in tents next!!!

Hi

We have booked Perran sands for a week and there will be two teenagers who will be sleeping in awning, there was no mention when booking nor on the paperwork I have recieved, I am going and let them try and kick us off because you bet your bottom dollar there'll be loads there with kids in the awnings,as a previous post said shut your curtains and no-one will be any the wiser,!!x

Seems like this amounts to misrepresentation - talk to your Trading Standards and also issue a claim in the Small Claims court to get your money back. Presumably it is also illegal to fall asleep in a deckchair on Brighton seafront.

have just come back from perran sand no problem there with sleeping in awnnings. When queried about this they said that perhaps were more lenient cos they take tents.

Apparently it is a local authority law which also includes a health and safety aspect.

Any caravan site that does not have a tent licence it not able to accept sleeping in awnings.

Not all bad news was offered my money back. Haven will be putting information about this new law on website and also in new brochure.
