Welcome to the madhouse ! If you have patience you can find the answers to lots of questions in this forum, although I have to admit the search facility is not the best.

You will see a beginners section on the home page. I suggest you join one of the major clubs. I can only speak as a Caravan Club member for many years, but their site guide has lots of good advice too and there are many useful leaflets to download from the members part of the website.

Once you get onto a site, or indeed see people with a caravan on the drive, don't be afraid to ask as the vast majority of us will be only too pleased to offer advice and assistance - your main problem might be getting away in a reasonable time.

Failing all this, post a question in the appropriate section - this seems particularly good for advice on sites and for overseas touring ( and this is something you really want to consider - for me and other probably the best single thing about caravanning these days)

Good luck.

Hi caravanner,

greetings and welcome to the forum. i have 1 piece of advice for you. Make an exhaustive list of everything you need in your caravan i.e clothing, food ,cutlery etc and every time you go away go through the list ticking each item as you load. that way you shouldn't forget anything. If you do the list properly you should leave room at the top where you could write the name of where you are going. It's great fun looking back at all the places you've been over the years.
