Hello all,

I wonder if you can help me? I recently bought an Abbey Executive, 1989, 2 berth caravan. It came with no extras and I am looking to get an awning for it. Does anyone have any idea how to measure/work out the size of an awning? I need to buy all the new kit, but haven't a clue how to shop for an awning.

Any help would be appreciated!

Many thanks - Laura

Hi Laura, welcome to the forum

To measure the awning size for your caravan first take a ball of string or garden twine (sold in Wilkinsons)

Locate the awning rail which is a channel that runs along where the front sides and roof join.

Get someone to hold the end of the string on the ground below the end of the awning rail then run the string through the rail and to ground level at the other end.

Mark the string where it touches the ground at the back, measure the length from the end to your mark in centimeters and this will give the awning size for your caravan.

There are many used caravan accessories for sale such as aquarolls, wastemasters, wheel clamps as well as awnings.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, a post in the equipment and accessories section would draw a better response.

Hi pat, Tthank you too for you help and advice. I am in Ccheshire so quite a way from that shop, but there is a local shop here that's very good. I have compared prices with various local companies and they are by far the cheapest (and closest) so that's great.

Thank again for the speedy responses and being so welcoming.

Laura
