New to caravanning

Hi, we are recently retired and just purchased our first caravan which we love, it quite old 1992 but in lovely condition and we are bringing it up to date. We have a Buccanneer Elan 14, we looked at loads of vans a lots of which were not suitable but fell in love with this one. Then we went out and brought a Freelander to tow it after realising on our first trip out that towing with a 3.5 tonn van was not the most convient way to do as it meant taking a car as well for visiting places.
Living in Cornwall we have only been on Cornish site so far but are going up to Stowford next month. We have had the van about six weeks and so far been away 3 times. We look forward to many happy holidays in it.

It is good to hear you are enjoying your first caravan like myself you are very new to the caravan world and I say spefically caravan world as I have found it to be very different from everyday life.

The caravan world is a very nice place where the majority of people are polite friendly and make everybody welcome and where necessary or by request will never refuse a helping hand.

Hi Jacki &Terry, welcome to Practical Caravan forum and congratulations on purchasing your Buccanneer. The overall condition of any caravan is much more important than it's age and hopefully you will enjoy adapting some parts of it to your personal taste and requirements so that your caravan will reflect the care that you have shown it.
Enjoy your forthcoming trip to Stowford, this site is a popular venue for the Practical Caravan rally so hopefully we may be able to meet you at the next one.
