ive just finished my first 12 months caravanning with the family and loving it (bailey pageant auvergne 2002). now i got the maintanence bit to do and a few bits are bothering me. any help with the following would be really appreciated. 1)where to buy a cover for the mudguard fasteners on my bailey pageant. damn thing fell off and its noticeable. 2) if the roof locker is split by inch in the toilet is there a plastic glue i can buy to stop it getting worse. 3) are dinks caused by awning poles easily removed!

cheers

Hello Mat, Welcome to the Practical Caravan forum. A caravan accessory shop or even Ebay might be able to help with the mudgard fastners and many caravans suffer from dinks caused by awning poles but this doesn't seem to affect the resale value too much.
If there are just one or two dinks you could cover them with stick on reflectors perhaps, there is no effective method of removing such dinks in aluminium caravan sides. To find out which glue would work you might need to find out what material the locker is made of because there are different types of plastic, perhaps a forum member who owns a Bailey will be able to help.

dont bother with the dents you will have to have it done by expert because the alloy will stretch and paint worfk will look odd .are you on about the poppers on arch ? the crack may well work with super glue or creeping crack glue as parksy says depends on type off door.

your a gent and much appreciated. im getting a growing urge to clean and fix in readiness for better weather but dont yet know wheres best for certain accessories. im staffordshire based so rely very much on websites. must say though the first years been great, kingsbury water park, cofton country park, ashbourne, worcester, burnham on sea and conkers. wrestled with the isabella awning a few times hence the big dink but already the wifes been looking round highbridge for a newer van. not one person has laughed at my shocking reversing.
your description of poppers seems right. little plastic covers on the arch, ones missing and its noticeable. didnt know what they are called hence struggling to search for them on accessory sites

As regards awning poles, I have a Bailey Monarch, yes alloy exteriors are so easily dented with metal hooks. I've changed all my poles to rubber suckers to caravan sides = no more acci dents!

for the crack. pop into Steve Webb Models in Frodsham and ask for some thin Zap (mylar hinge suitable) and some kicker.
The Zap will wickinto the crack and the kicker will cure it in milliseconds.

I.v lost several of these wheel arch screw covers in the past, most Bailey dealers seem to hold them in stock. when clipping the new one into place it's advisable to use a blob of sealant as they fall out quite easily
