Hello! My name is Richard and I live in rural Shropshire. I own four classic caravans, to include a 1947 Berkley Carapartment, which originally belonged to the ventriloquist, Albert Saveen (and his dummy, Daisy May!) I also have a 1958 Freeman Leveret, a 1971 Royale and a 1980 Royale. I am keen to expand my collection, so if anyone knows of any caravans from the forties, fifties or sixties enjoying retirement in the corner of a field, or hidden away in a barn somewhere, I'd be keen to hear from you.

My email address is: r.eaves@virgin.net

With best wishes,

Richard

Welcome to the forum Richard. Just one point, I hope the Moderator deletes your post because once emmerson knows you have TWO Royales the site will turn green with envy ;O) BTW thanks for the memory, I had completely forgotten Daisy May.

Hi Richard.

Welcome to the forum.

We have a 1982 Link 575 20 foot 4 berth, twin axle van. Which may be only one of twenty or so built by Deanline. I must admit to updating it with a carver2 water heater and adding an electric cassette loo. But it is as good as most ten year old vans and very easy to use. So far I've not seen another anywhere, let alone still being used.

As his Lordship has guessed I'm from Leominster just a few clicks south.

One celebraty that owned a Link was Kieth Chegwyn and his then wife Maggie Filbin. Don't know if they owned our van as the Deanline owners club secetary hasn't replied to my post.

ATB Steve.
