new x trail/ pageant limousine.

Hi all,

I currently have one of the new shape x trails with the 171hp diesel and very comfortably tow our pageant champagne series 6.

does anybody tow a limousine or similler caravan with this car, any opinion would be appreciated. Think the car has a kirb weight of 1720, and the caravan 1580.

Hi Darren, your X Trails kerbweight is 1651kg according to What Diesel mag,that does not square with your info,perhaps you could double check.

xtrail brochure states sport=1651 aventura=1705kg for 6 speed manual diesel.

Hi again,

I just looked on what towcar.com, and my 171hp aventura is showing to have a kirb weight of 1726, which against the 1580 caravan is around a 91% match. Well within the 2200 towing limit, and with twin axle stability, alko stabiliser, sensible loading and the atc trailer controll system should surely make a good match?.

My older 05 plate X-trail is listed at 1520kg but when I put it on a weighbridge it was 1720kg, thats with 3/4 tank of diesel and me sat in it.

Might be worth weighing yours Darren, only cost

Forgot to mention I tow a 1500kg van with no problem. Car is 2.2 DCi.
