any recommendations for the new year break, where is open not to far from surrey with something for the kids.

Both Sandy Balls and Bashley are open, only trouble is SB in particular books well in advance as they are only licensed to use a limited number of pitches during the winter, and you have to beek a year in advance for new Year. They do have a cancellation list though so you can go on that.
