Hi everyone, I joined a while ago but never got on to introduce myself. My name is Yvonne & I am married to Jack, we have 5 children & 7 grandchildren. I drive a Dodge Nitro 2.8CRD and tow a 2 year old Avondale Argenta 4 berth twin axle. I do all the towing and having an American car attend alot of car shows the last being Americana in Newark. Caravanning has been a big part of my life but for Jack it is all new so we started with a 20yr old Eccles Oynx, paid £1200 for her, I wanted to see how Jack took to caravanning? Let her go this year when we bought the new van. I love the van but we have a problem with the awning rail. Whilst at a capsite the wind was so strong whilst Jack was taking down the awning it lifted the awning like a kite and we thing the rail has lifted from the van in that when it rains the rain runs down through the rail - any help, advise on this would be great

Hi Yvonne & Jack, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
Your query about the awning rail will be seen by more forum members if you re-post it in the Technical section because not all members look at this part of the forum.
It sounds as though the awning rail has pulled away from the caravan side which means that it will need to be taken off, straightened out, re- sealed and repositioned with new holes being drilled and new stainless steel self tapping fixings.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. Hope you get your rail sorted before the dreaded damp gets too far in.
