I've changed my email address and now notice that I have been de-moted to the ranks once more.Quite frankly,it is good to be back. These upper classes are up to no good....constantly plotting against all manner of people.Lord B never once invited me to his estate to introduce me to his friends......so now I'm going to be plain old Maureen again unless another clone pops up!))

Hi Maureen,

Being a lady has nothing to do with class. The one lady I know best is the daughter of a miner and proud of it.

I'm sure you'll be a match to anyone in Lord B's circle as she would be.

Regards - Rob S.

Hi Maureen,

Thanks for your good wishes - I don't feel 80! I did indeed have a great birthday although I had said it had to be low key with no gifts. Apparently the kids had wanted some sort of dinner but I didn't. On the phone to Molly, my daughter Moira said "tell the crabbit auld so and so I'll bring him a fish supper". I thought that was brilliant and the upshot was that everyone gathered here, orders were taken and the boys despatched to get the cary-outs. One of my sons and his two boys lives on the Isle of Bute. As the others were arriving the phone rang and I picked it up. It was one of my grandsons from Rothesay. After speaking to him for a few moments I asked if his brother was there. "He's right behind you". I turned and there were the Rothesay crowd grinning all over their faces, Adam speaking to me on his mobile. I hadn't expected them to come over. Everyone else knew.

The kids are sending Molly and me on a flight on a seaplane operating out of Loch Lomond. We'll have a wee tour of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park then Land at Crinan for lunch in the hotel there before flying back to Loch Lomond.

Seems they do have some regard for "the crabbit auld so and so"!!

Rob,

Do let us know when you are going and how you enjoyed it.

My hubby's 70th is approaching and I have been racking my brains for an idea.....this would be just the ticket as we are not really party people. Are you definitely flying out of Loch Lomond......they did have planning problems with that one,but I believe they have a licence to fly out of Glasgow from the Clyde at ??Science centre or ?? Braehead.

Cheers Maureen

Hi Maureen,

I believe flights from the Clyde are commercial flights while the scenic ones take off from Loch Lomond. The base is at the Culag Lochside Guest House about a mile north of Luss.

Our trip is booked for 18th May - booking has to be firmed up six to eight weeks ahead.

Regards, Rob S.

Maureen, what do you mean 'constantly plotting against all sorts of people' even though as a Sir I rank among the aristocracy I would have to change my name if plotting was stopped.

Hi Sir Plotter

Or is it Lord Plotter?????

I would hate for the Plotting to stop and would be happy to join your little band of plotters ) Only I need to know what side you are on before committing myself (and I don't mean to the asylum ))

Sir Anthony, did you also know that you had a namesake/ancestor who was an MP in the early sixteenth century? That's another reason for maureen to be careful!

Maureen, beware of Emmerson whose ancestry goes back to strange people who took the North East and wear funny hats with horns on.I believe Sir Anthony did have an Mp ancestor and without looking up all my papers not sure of the direct link.Did you see the TV programme and the rather graphic portrayal of his end although they were wrong to show all the conspirators being hung drawn and quartered as after Sir Anthony, Liz 1st thought it was too gruesome and the others were just hanged.

Didn't see the prog, cos we don't have a television! I'm currently reading Phillipa Gregory's "the Queens Fool", which is set around the time your ancestor was born, but he didn't get to live long did he? As for my ancestors wearing funny hats, we also kept the Scots and the northern English on their toes by raiding both sides of the border! It's called hedging your bets. Also, most of my folks kept their heads! I repeat, Maureen, take care where you fly your flag! His family history is not good.

Emmerson, you are right he only made it to mid twenties but was nevertheless married with child who I am afraid died before he did and he was very wealthy not that it did him any good. All his properties and land of which there were many(with the exception of the Manor House at Dethick,Nr Matlock)were confiscated and split between the Earl of Shrewsbury and Sir Walter Raleigh.Sorry I was only trying to wind you up about you ancestors clothing habits which is no worse than the masons, but your lot I suppose would have been protective of the Scots,in which case we are both tarred with the same brush as mine was only trying to mary Queen of Scots on the throne.Maureen need have no fears as we are repented of our sins! :0)

Maureen I have seen the errors of my ways, especially against the good name of Lord B. I have given him my word as a fellow caravanner that I will not in the future in any way belittle his good name. I will also make this pledge to all other contributers to this forum. I am a new man - I have seen the light. I think I get all misted up after having a wee dram of the Scottish nectre. I will not give up this fine drink but will moderate my intake so as not to get riled.

we are at cross purpose I meant filling up with emotion following your outpouring of remorse for your treatment of my fellow member of the aristoracy, however upon reflection your interpretation of filling up is a much better idea so cheers (dont let Cris see this or he will go off on another one about the evils of drink)

Sir I did not realise that were also a member of the aristocracy. I will apologise for my previous referral to you as a MR. Please enlighten me as to your correct title.

As for filling up I misunderstood your comment so if you will not provide the necessary home measured dram for me I had better get my self sorted out this end.
