Question 1. My Wintahoff tow hitch is noisey to say the least i know they make some noise but it does sound as if its being throttled by big hands. the ball is new and grease free, the indicator is pointing between + and - so half way. could this be a touch of grease when shunted away at the storage site but then we did cover 460 miles from start to finish on our recent trip. Any solutions ? Question 2. As chief cook and bottle washer on our recent trip i noticed the sink water was slow in running away is this normal ?. As this is a twin axle with the outlet connections at the back my sinkunblockerwireything wont go sink to back so can i use a liquid solution such as Mrmuscle sink unblocker or is there a caravan version ?.

Thhe hitch noise is due to contamination.
You say the ball is new,is it completely free of all paint and/or laquer and just a nice clean metal?
Clean the hitch stabiliser pads with emery paper and a good squirt of brake cleaner (NOT Brake Fluid), every time before hitching up.
Same for the ball.

As for slow emptying water, depends how you have the van sited.
If perfectly level then it will be slow as there is no downfall on the waste pipe, and being twin axles it has further to go before reaching the waste master.

You can use all kinds of cleaners, soda crystals and hot water work well, just blockthe outlet first then a handfull of crystals followed by hot water and leave for a while to work

Damian has it exactly right - get the ball shiny smooth with fine emery followed with steel wool. The ball will tend to rust slightly even after a few weeks with just the cover on in our lovely English climate, so clean it before each trip. Do not be tempted to lubricate the ball with anything.

Hi all, well the soda crystals helped clean my pipes out they allso disolve the glue on the tape i used but the end result was worth it. As for the noisey hitch, i cleaned the ball with wire wool and then brake cleaner i also cleaned the pads of the hitch allthougth there is not quite as much squeak as before i still have some but the man taking us to our pitch this weekend said they all seem to do it. However the ball hitch has some wear front and back where the pads cotact, this was a new ball but it looks like the plateing is coming off on these areas. Is there a certain ball i should be using or should i just clean all parts prior to hitching up and let them bed in ?

If it is one of the Chrome Plated types, all the Chrome Plating needs to come off the ball, or you will contaminate the pads.

Hi Graham
In had the same problem when I had my Winterhoff pads changed, in the end BPW gave my engineer a new foc set, best buy a plain 50cm ball I use wore wool to clean mine followed with white spirit I dont know if you do but do use a ball cover when not in use it helps in keeping the ball clean
As for the drainage my Crusader Storm has had drainage problems I use baby sterelising soultion to clean the system and drains out, I also carry extra drainage pipe made up of rigid and flexible types so I can take it to the wastemaster at the side ove the van when the rear end is too close to the ground
