Stayed at Durdle Door campsite for first two weeks of August. Lovely campsite in a wonderful setting but had at least 3 nights sleep ruined by large groups of people sat outside their tents socialising into the early hours. I saw one guy marching over to the party with gallon containers of cider in each hand so you can imagine the scenario. Whilst the adults were having fun, the kids were running around the site in a huge group screeching and climbing over fences, running between the caravans etc....
And why does there always appear to be one woman in a party with a particularly raucous laugh??? I heard one woman being asked to be quiet by her own friends and the reply was that she was going to laugh if she f**king wanted to... and she did....for hours
Im not brave enough to go and ask people to be quiet when they are all tanked up on alcolhol. Fortunately it did not happen night after night or would have spoken to reception about it.
It was quite noticeable that after the gale on Monday night last, most of the tents went home and the peace was bliss....
I think its always disastrous when a campsite mixes up the tents with caravans as tents by their nature are bound to be noisy.
Im not suggesting that all people in tents are noisy as fortunately most people have consideration for others but it only takes one selfish group to be intent on having a party and the whole site is kept awake.
Its time campsites took their own rules seriously because this problem is starting to affect our enjoyment of caravanning and we cant be the only ones.
Holidays are supposed to be relaxing but at the moment you go out for the day and can come back to find you have a tent or if you are really unlucky, several tents on one pitch, right next to you and you just know its likely to be another noisy night.
