'scuse me Your Moddyship but wouldn't it be nice if these people from across the water had their own topic heading so they can find relevant posts to each other??

It seems to me that they have to trawl the threads or post just hoping another from Ireland sees it :O)

If His Moddyship agrees all you Norn Ironers please feel free to make donations c/o

Graham - on times you can be almost as annoying as Lord B. No disrespect to the Irish (my paternal grandmother was Irish) but what I insist on is a Welsh section for all the Welsh Celts, likewise a section for the Scottish Celts. Why should we be left out.

Colin,

At no time have I ever tried to annoy you, but I seam to remember having to take insults from yourself in the past.

If you follow the threads that I have copied & pasted on here, I assumed from what you said, that you wanted to join with my Irish family and that is why I drew a smiley face )

Sorry Graham it was my sense of humour - I have the greatest admiration for the Irish folk as I have friends from both the north and south. The old joke about the Welsh was that we were the Irish who could not swim when the Danes, Vikings, etc invaded Great Britain and drove the Celts west and north. I will try in future to curb my sense of humour and keep the insults for Lord B. and Plotter as they both wind me up something rotten. Once again Graham I must apologise to you.

Chico - I think that you are taking this topic a bit too serious. As Ireland, be it North or Southern is across the Irish Sea I do not see any bother in a forum set up for them - they have to come over to the Uk if they wish to partake in any of our rallies. Regarding the setting up of a Welsh & Scottish forum I was just winding Lord B. up as we both have a similar and at times off beat sense of humour. Unfortunately I did upset Graham with my humour and I have apologised to him as I do not intentionally intend to upset anyone - there is far too much of that going on in the world without introducing it on this forum. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately I do not know) we are not all given the same sense of "humour".

Colin its part of the problem with forums like this. There is usally no way to tell by reading some words what people are actually feeling.

I don't think the thread topic was too hard to understand was it?

It was simply asking for a separate heading for Northern Ireland Caravanners so they don't have to trawl to find each others posts. If the thread had been read from top to bottom it was obvious. Jennifer understood and she is from Northern Ireland so I suppose that's all that matters.

The other was Colyn ap Brydgynd having a joke and Graham misunderstanding him.

The problem is some people have selective reading.

Before they reply they should proof read their post before hitting submit instead of selecting typing finger, hitting submit and then engaging brain :O)

His Moddyship still hasn't said if it's OK for them to have a forum though :O(

We get a lot of requests for new/extra forum topics. We could end up with topics for every make of caravan, every sport or hobby, every pet, etc etc etc.

The range of topics we have now covers all the main aspects of caravanning, and for the odd caravan related issue not covered there's the General area.

If I might add, I cannot see what is in common between asking for a forum and the American Civil War. :O)

I think a NI or all Ireland forum would be a good idea.

Where as other Welsh, Scottish, Cornish etc etc are not really necessary.

The reason being NI is isolated by a too expensive, long and not too comfortable ferry crossing for rallies etc.

So any NI club or member does need to have a primary focus on activities in NI/Ireland with perhaps longer trips to the rest of the UK or further afield.

Which is why posters from NI tend to draw attention to their location.

I live in the West country and our centre enjoys guests on rallies from Wales, the Midlands and much further afield because they can still be on site within a couple of hours without any major delays/costs - this is not the case for NI caravanners wanting to attend any other region/centres rallies.

I know the ferry trips as I have a brother who lives in NI.

For the NI vanners

At my brothers wedding reception I went to the bar several times asking for a Norwegian before I realised they were asking for a "nor wee gin", I don't know what the barman thought when I was asking for it!

Mr. Clarks son - my comments regarding seperate forums for Wales and Scotland were purely a wind up for Lord B. There was no sincerity in my comments regarding wanting a forum. I would agree however that a forum for Northern/Southern Ireland could be an advantage mainly for those residents but could also possibly benifit UK caravanners who would like to tour Ireland be it north or south.

Lisa as far as you being born in New Zealand I would hate to think what the ferry charges would be for a car and caravan.

from there to the UK. I would suggest that you book an overnight cabin as it could be a long haul ferry.

Jason that is heck of a big smiley face you have there.
