Hi Darren.

My first thought is why do you want to carry all that gas, I am not suprised at your noseweight - unless you are going on an extended tour somewhere.I take it the bottles you are referring to are 7kg Calor butane. Here are a few facts. All bottles full.

2x7kg Calor butane bottles weigh approx 70lbs.

2x5kg BP Lite propane weigh approx 38.28lbs.

2x6kg New Calor lite propane weigh approx 42lbs.

I used to have the same problem but not any more. I have BP lite and Calor lite. Good Luck. JTS.

Hi Darren

I have a very similar sized van, a 2007 Sterling 500, and I've found exactly the same. Despite having a large front locker, the only way I can acheive 75kg noseweight is to have it quite empty. I carry just one of the smallest sized bottles, and then put most of the other cargo at the back of the van to balance it. Getting the noseweight right has a dramatic effct on the ease of towing, so do persevere in getting the noseweight right.

Just remember, if you do need to carry gas bottles elswhere in your van they should be upright and secured. It's not a good idea to have them in your car in case of accidents, but if you do you must have a warning sign diplayed saying you are carrying LPG.
