Tom you should feel honoured, you are indeed a rare breed. Join the group of grumpy old gits on this forum. They are a select band of three. Have you ever thought of NOT reading the threads on the Easter Meet or does your nosiness get the better of you. Maybe you need to read the threads to feed your need to whinge about something. Before you start beating your gums together again I'm not going either, but what you need to get into your head is this forum is for all, not just a few. Lol and the rest, post away till your hearts content. If it was me I would do it even more now knowing I was satisfying Tom's excuse for moaning.

p.s... for your information Tom, the Easter Meet is a SOCIAL gathering of like minded people off this forum. The key word being SOCIAL. I'm sure if you attended this meet you would obviously learn, from the anti socialness of your post, how to improve your social skills.

I find it interesting that people can find a bond in cyber space and make friends and decide that they can spend some quality time as a group of fairly like minded people I guess who share an interest.

Rallies and groups of people are not for me, but good luck to the Eastermeeters I like others have to work.

My wish is that they all get on and can take a joke or wind up as well as they do on line!

Lutz making his trip from home is great to. No Europhobia in the Eastermeters Group especially as he's bringing wine ;-)

Good luck guys and post as much as you like about the event.

well said Lord B

I don't read posts that I have no interest over, nor should anyone else - I agree, if Tom doesn't want to read about all of us getting excited who are going to the EASTER MEET, don't read the threads.

Tom, I find your post intriguing, first of all why are you looking at the posts if you find them tiresome? will you please come back and answer that question because it is beyond me why someone would take time to read something that they know that they will find annoying and then find more time to sit down and type out a complaint.

Secondly let me point out that this meeting has been open to all forum users from day one, I mention that just in case you're feeling left out.

We have had to use the forum to organise the event mainly because none of us have ever met before and therefore are not in contact with each other by normal means eg phone etc.

Lastly out of all the forum users that can't attend the meet you are the only one to come out against us, most users have been offering advice and support and are eagerly awaiting the outcome and some have even asked for photo's of the proceedings to be posted on the site.

Personally I think the green eyed monster has reared its ugly head.

It could have been Tom's attempt at Humour.

It takes all sorts and Tom is entitled to his opinion :)

Where are you going Tom?

Maybe they could all call to see you on their way home and give 1st hand account of how it went so you don't have to read about it for weeks ;-)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, we just don't want to hear it! - as people point out, if you are not interested in a thread, why in gods name do you read it?

Tom I think you should have kept it to yourself mate. I'm going to put my neck in the noose now and say you have only said what I would imagine a lot of people on this forum are thinking but as his windyship said because it is of no interest to most they just ignore it. For instance I find the amount of threads on televisions and associated paraphernalia quite bewildering but they are easily ignored as are the Easter meet threads if you so choose.

It would seem Cris and I have similar personalities as far as being around people go. I get bored with people very quickly; an hour in a group and that is my maximum. That said if another meet was planned nothing would give me more pleasure than to say hello and put faces to names(and names to dogs ;-)) but I would book on the site away from the group and just 'pop over' to pass the time of day.

I also agree with you Cris in that I think Toms point was made a little tongue in cheek but it has clearly hit a nerve for some reason.

I would also point out, and this definitely wont go down well, right or wrong Tom as used the forum to express his view which he is perfectly entitled to do and I recon some should practice what they preach and ignore it if it is of no interest to them.

Right were was I ..ah yes pictures of No 8, 2 inch woodscrews to post in chit-chat ;-)

Everyone to their own I guess.

I have to be a "people Person" a lot of the time with my work.

To me the caravan gives me freedom of choice in so many ways.

We decide where when and what we do , and eat and go etc.

People go on about kids and to much TV and Video Games etc.

Years ago we had medium sized estate car and a van that was not big but heavy, leaving TV and all the gear the kids would have taken was a must.

They never worried about it once they were on sites and I could catch up on my reading, some of the threads on Flat sceen TV's and DVD players and Radio leave me lost, but everyone to their own.

Shouldn't you and the other old F ra ts be off getting ready to discuss Bungle Browns Budget Lord B.

If you want to get to Cornwall be careful or I'll have the border closed ;-) I'm not far away at present and have loads of cousins in Devon and Cornwall to call on and us old boys down here are not as gentile as the Welsh and Scots ;-0

Exactly cris - you read what you are interested in, if not you dont bother. When you read threads of no interest to you and then make derogatory comments about them shows the type of person you are. The vast majority live and let live. People might debate issues on here and rightly so but to whinge and name call as a few have done recently over posts they dont like to see (like the Easter Meet, dogs, photos, etc.) just beggars belief and does nothing to persuade me that they aren't miserable old gits. I'm now in my 60s but God forbid, if I ever got like that I think I would top myself.

And you only look about 40 LordB or was that the "photoshop" skills ;-)

Somebody asked about touring in Europe and I forgot what we consider a must have on trips, yet I seemed to get accused of suggesting that you will not see France through Black Clouds of Mozzies and others have never had a Problem.

Now, I never had a flat tyre on my Caravans or trailers for years, but when that time came I was glad I had a fit spare wheel and the correct jack to address the problem.

I guess we have to put some of the comments down to others humour, I have fallen foul of others taking my posts seriously when they were "in Jest"

Thanks Lolly, I'm looking forward to meeting you too, my daughter (7) is starting to get exited about it now, she keeps changing her mind about what she is going as to the fancy dress, she's now narrowed it down to either Cinderella or Snow White.

I'd better run for cover now that I've mentioned the dreaded "child" word

I am sure she will look beautiful, whatever costume she decides on. What are you going to be wearing for the fancy dress?
