Hello all, my Number plate keeps falling off my Caravan, it has been stuck on with the correct tape. Can I use small self tappers? it is a 2004 Bailey, thanks Kim.

Do NOT use self tappers as they will pierce the skin of the van and render your warranty invalid.

Get the proper number plate fixing pads from Halfords, make absolutely certain the back of the plate and the area of the van where it is being attached to is perfectly clean and free of grease, polish etc by cleaning with meths, then apply the pads to the plate and then to the van.

Press firmly for about 20 seconds to ensure a good bond, and make sure it is done on a dry day.

Hi Kim, No NO NO!! for reasons already given. I use HIGH GRAB velcro - yes there is such a thing. Not only do I use it for the number plate but it also has a wealth of uses around the van one of which is holding the piece of plastic sheeting they supply to cover the wheel/s in your awning in place. I'm sure you will find many more uses for it too. You can buy it in various forms ie - squares rounds etc- try it- its very good!

If all else fails try

www.bondingsolutions.co.uk

A few months ago some of us had free samples, and bought some of this stuff. It is like a velcro but very strong and can be removed. It has loads of other uses too.

Cheers
