This is a request from a non EHU site. A guy on site cannot get his old Cascade heater to work on gas - none of the lights on the panel come on. he says he has checked any relevant fuses. I know it's a long shot, but just wondered if anyone has any suggestion as to where he should be looking. Thanks.

I will second the advice given about calling Gary, I had a problem with my cascade this week, a call to Gary and he diagnosed and gave precise instructions in plain English as how to fix it, took me less than an hour and all working perfectly, I won't go into details of the fix which was also for mine not working on gas because I did have the lights working when trying to light it whereas you don't so obviously not the same problem, my own tip would be to reach under the heater and you will find a white 4 pin plug going to the control module, not easy to access but when you do pull the plug out and if it's the same as mine there was one pin which was earth and the other 3 when I switched the heater on at wall all were at 12 volts, if you measure the voltage on these pins at least you will have more info to enable Gary to make his diagnosis.

Thanks you two for your kind words, it is always nice to hear and I will explain things to people who I sense are capable, or if not, refer them to a local expert.

On working hours, I don't 'work' weekends or indeed after five in the week, infact, it's the post office run that takes presidence both sides of five each day.
However and I stress this, I am more than happy to take a phone call 'out of hours' if it can be termed urgent, ie, your stuck on site and need help now!
If your in doubt, perhaps you work shifts?, then a text message can often get you a call straight back.

What though I am not is a free 24/7 advice line!, if then I answer with 'arc systems' I'm working, if it's simply 'hello' I'm not.... so don't think you can just launch into it with not so much as a by-your-leave....manners cost nothing!
