As most of you will know I am currently trying my first seasonal (Jury's out on that one)!!
Turned up at site on Friday, signed in and the receptionist said it was busy on site, wondered what she meant as the pitches were full the last time we were down there so proceeded to our pitch, drove on to site and saw 6/7 caravans replaced with Hobby's and Tabberts, massive gas bottles outside there vans, milk churns and one even had a porch awning with a washing machine and tumble dryer in it !! but they gave no problems and even spoke to a couple of them.
So onwards to find the awning collapsed
Spend an hour in the sites workshop straightening three poles.
Go to fill the aquaroll, kids are using the tap for there water balloons, it was like a military exercise, one putting balloon to tap, one turning tap, one tying, and the final one launching them. I did wait 10 mins then they let me use the tap!!! (And yes there is only one tap!!)
Had a lovely day with visiting son and granddaughters on the Saturday, couldnt make our minds up weather to have a bbq or eat in at the on site bar, decided on the latter. And as soon as we arrived back on site the heavens opened, thunder lighting the works, couldnt eat in the bar as the local substation was taken out so no electric on site!!! Kids made do with beans on toast!! I had a few extra beers later!!
BUT I was kept busy as the awning was starting to flood.....help, I was standing on the two tier steps putting the jubilee clips on the roof bars to stop them from sliding.....one massive flash of lightening and one enormous crack of thunder, frightened me that much i fell of the steps.
Veiw out of rear window
We are about 3 to 4 inches deep now at the back end....then half an hour later the sun was out
Dont you just love caravanning
