I was told recentley by a caravanning friend that even tho caravan sites say that they are open all year round, they still have to close, generally January time. So that they are not classed as gypsy sites. Is this true.
How long a campsite is open for will depend on the license for that site and the original planning consent. Eleven month licenses are not unusual as it prevents caravans becoming permanent dwellings, nothing to do with gypsies. The Clubs have campsites which are open all year but they also have restrictions on how long you can stay in any one visit which would have been taken into account by the local planning authorities.
