Out Of Control

Hello AllIve had a bad/expensive year so far with my Sterling Eccles Topaz 2008. 90% damp offside front. Dead battery charger and perished tyres. All is now repaired but I am left with new niggling fault.My control panel (183) does not seem to respond very well to my finger prodding. It seems to take ages to spring to life and when I try to turn it off the display changes to the time/date adjust page. It takes a while and eventually switches off but after the year Im having so far I envisage an expensive puff of smoke arising.Please help Ive just about lost faith in this van Thanks Geoff

Unfortunately you have the dreaded Nordeletronnica system,,,,,,,ohh dear!

However, if you send your unit to Paul at Apuljack Engineering, he will repair it and return it to you in better condition than new, and at less cost!

Many thanks for that. I,ve had a look at their site and will give them a call. what sort of costs do you think i,m looking at?.Hope it,s not too pricey...forgot to mention new front centre window(panes rubbing together) and new drawer assembley above truma heater which was melted at service("Must have been like that when you brought it in mate" Funny,I don,t remember smashing any mirrors! Thanks again

They probably had the fire on both gas and electric?
Part of the service is to check that everything works, i always found that odd really, as generally you have an idea that something's not working, i suppose its all about ticking boxes.

I did suggest that at the time but they wouldn,t have it.You think after spending well over £1000 they could have chucked in a £20 drawer assembley.I suppose the moral is check the van over with the service provider and agree any existing problems.Thanks for replying

I can recommend Paul @ Apuljack. He sorted my sons Nord unit for us at a good price
He also helped us the other Sunday. We had power to the van but nothing past the Nord
After phone call to him he said turn on the mains lights then follow the power cable to the Nord. The plug had unclipped itself & was almost off the pins. I clipped it back on & secured it with a cable tie power back on

Thanks for reply Paul Is the multi pin connector behind the actual control panel or somewhere else?. Seems logical to check this first before sending unit away.We are off to Chatsworth on 3rd august so would be worried the unit wouldnt get back in time. All the functions seem fine apart from the sluggish on/off button. Many thanks for tip.
