Out of Town Parking

The Conservatives are now thinking of taxing car parking in out of town departmental stores in order to drive shoppers back into town centres. I would not object to this if the in town car parks were then made free. They cannot have it both ways - taxing out of town and charging in town. They have today also mentioned taxing gas guzelling cars (no mention of lorries. busses, etc.) and also short haul aeroplane flights - eg London to Glasgow. They reckon if the public were to use the train instead of flying there would be no need for the Heathrow airport extension. Yet another set of stealth taxes to satisfy the looney green brigade/friends of the earth/etc.

Is there any political party who are not going down this eco route that I can vote for in the next general/local elections?

The short answer is No

I once used to think an MP had some inteligence, in fact it used to be a requirement for the job. Today I look at CMD or Brown, Jaqui Smith etc and think how did we get into this mess.

If all the Green Tax went to China or India I would see Saving the Planet as a just cause . Now I just see it as a con. No not a con even worse, I see it as the public being stuffed by a set of poor second rate MPs and experts.
