Overwintering

No, don't do this and never have. also don't know anybody who does this.. I don't suppose Alko sell axle stands, and are trying to increase sales are they

I do and have done so for nearly 3 decades - as well as resting the suspension it allows the tyres to be stored in the dark to reduce the UV deterioration. I support the axle end plates on blocks, rather than the axle itself..
It does make it more difficult to steal since thieves would have to bring wheels with them and spend time jacking the caravan up as the blocks I use are quite low.

If I remember correctly Alko advise specific points to locate the axle stands and I don't think it was on the axle..... They also advise keeping a certain amount of weight on the wheels and there is an angle that they suggest to let the axles hang at to relax the rubber suspension. I think the details vary according to specific design of chassis etc so check in owners manual if you are going to try it. Its easier to keep using the caravan and enjoy it.
