Whilst in our local caravan dealers yesterday, we saw a video of the Paintseal paint protection system. We have had our new caravan for just 11 days and are wondering if this process is worth the money. Any advice would be welcomed please.

My current car had this applied from new. It was done for free by the dealer as a 'customer service' gesture - I had bought a couple of cars from the dealer and travelled a long way to collect them. The main benefits are that when you wash the car water beads off in much the same way as it does when you wax it.

I have had the car for 18 months and it still works but not as well as it did when new. To be honest, if I was paying for it I wouldnt have it done - a good quality wax seems to do much the same - only you need to do this more often.

I use Mer polish on my caravan and it lasts a long time and does the job - you can buy an awful lot of polish for what the paint treatment costs.

Hi

I paid for Paintseal on my new caravan a year ago. It is excellent! I just wash the van & leather it and it is far easier than polishing!! Minimal black steaks are easy to wipe off. Well worth the cost IMHO.

Have had same sort of thing on my last 3 cars and it is good for the stated 5 years.

i would not pay the money some dealers are asking its just a way of getting a fantastic commission of you

its does work though, i think there is cheaper ways of getting the same results see other replies, but do it while your van is new

In response to the above emails I feel that two companies/products are being confused. The product which Paintseal Direct supply is Dupont Teflon Paint sealant and has never been available on ebay as they import the product direct and supply and fit to customers direct through dealership advertising. Also the product carries a 5 year from new warranty and the other product mentioned has a 3 year warranty - a completely different product all together.

Had the tow car Superguarded. Very disappointed. I feel makes leathering essential instead of drip drying. One contributor uses MER polish. There have been a number of threads on here about polish and I would urge caution as I understand that some polishes have been thought to damage the plastic panels on vans.

Hi I belive that Paintseal Direct products have been tested and approved by Thompsons plastics and Hodgesons sealants, so they are pretty bullet proof.
