Would like to go, but Social servies have become decidedly unkeen on us taking foster son out of school for a holiday and it is a long way for even a bank holiday weekend. He'll have to throw a sickie!!

Why would you have to take 'your' Looked After Child out of school for these dates, it is over a bank holiday weekend?

It would be nicer if the venue was a little more 'up north'. That would give a lot of people (magazine readers) greater opportunity to attend the meeting.
I am not suggesting it should be in the midlands but Cheshire or Yorkshire for instance?

Hi Brum,
think this topic is a bit confusing at the moment, mels reply was in response to another Woosie meet after the PC Rally (when a few other Woosie's said they wouldnt be able to attend the PC one IF the dates were the 4th + 5th may) which would mean it might well occur in term time. Hope that clears that one up

Thanks kev. Thats pretty much it. If the pc rally was in stowford the same weekend as last year it means arriving very late on Friday evening and departing monday morning, which for the distance that Stowford is from us is not really worth it. Ideally we would go thursday to tuesday but then we hit the term time problem. I'll wait and see what the dates and venue are and then decide.
Brum you used the phrase "Looked After Child". 'You clearly know a bit about this m'larkey

Hi All
just sent email to PC to see if they are planning reader rally in 2013? Will update you asap

Hi Di

I e-mailed Nigel D last week asking for a date. No reply yet.

It seems to me a number of the Woosies will have problems attending early May . Surfer doesn't want Stowford again as he did have a lot of trouble with a water logged pitch!
Kopite has to factor in Amy and Luke's schools so maybe we should start with establishing when those with kids can get away, ie when is half term etc.
I and Lady Villa are ok to go pretty well anywhere anytime other than 4/5 May and end July early august ( son gets married at last near Wakefield).
Also any suggestions for a venue?

Deli Dave
If you get t he chance perhaps you could have a look at that place near Stratford?

Hi All
Just had an email from PC to advise reader rally will be the same weekend (May day bank holiday) but not the venue. Been thinking to try and accomadate everyone why don't we try around the Spring bank holiday break May 27th (which is also half term) so we couldhave long weekend - Anybody wanting to stay longer could either stay before the weekend or after.

If it is at Stowford Meadows again we will have to give it a miss.

Is there a problem with Stowford Surfer?
Other than it being a journey of 170 miles each way I quite like it.
We have a twin axle and the first pitch they gave us was unsuitable for a twin axle. Second pitch a lot better, but only just. Although we were booked in for a week gave up on the Sunday and came home due to weather (No fault of Stowford). Site and staff are okay, but didn't really like the location of the site itself. The last bit of road from Barnstaple to the site is in urgent need of a makeover as it really shook the caravan to pieces and cost us £30.

Just an idea perhaps we should leave this post to the PC Rally and arrange/discuss the Woosie meet on our Woosie Post
we need to get to 1000 before christmas

Ref dates for the Woosie meet, I'm out of the country from April 7 until June 26th, Someone suggested making the venue further north. Can I suggest Elm Cottage, little Budworth, near Winsford, Cheshire. Twenty minutes from J18 m6, and a lovely location for any rally.
The Royale Caravan Owners Club have used it for many years now for our AGM, and find that the site, with its Rally barn, and huge rally field (with 16 twelve amp ehus) and very helpful owners, suits us perfectly.
