I take it you change down a gear or two more often when you're towing and negotiating hills.

we usually follow my dad when we go away and we have had to tell him to go ahead so we can get a good run up on a hill if we know its comming.the car is great on flats or when caravans not on but doesnt seem to have much power on the hills going to take it in to garage and get it all checked over

from what weve been told we are doing everything we should whilst towing maybe we are just being too hard on the car its just we see peugeots towing bigger vans and wonder if they have same problem

I towed a 1200kg caravan with a 1.9TD (90bhp) 406 without any problems. Are you sure the turbo is working okay? Changing down through the gears will always be necessary, but it shouldn't struggle.

I have just looked up a Peugeot 406 2.1td in the brochure. It takes the brake horse power from 109 to a respectable 130 bhp. Price is about
