Possibility of a 'search' facility

As a relatively new reader on the forum, I have been browsing away at some of the past threads and was struck by what someone had said about past items of information/advice/tips being buried with subsequent postings, resulting in the same questions being repeated over the months/years. It made me wonder if it was possible for a 'search' facility (similar to Google)would be possible, so that one could find out what has already been said on any subject before posting a question on it?
 
There is one already.

There is a blue box on the right hand side of the header - next to the picture of the caravan & the castle - & the bottom option is "Forum Search"

Is this not what you want? I have found it useful in the past.
