First of all a BIG Hello to all from myself and my wife here in County Durham.

Had our van now for 2yrs. Its a 1994 Bessacar and we love it. The sites we have been to over the last 2 yrs required us to fill the drum and wheel it back to the van. That is until our last stay at a site where we could use a cold water pipe (for the first time) straight from a nearby tap.

When we tried the taps in the van the water ran for around 3 seconds then reduced to a trickle. The pipe was new,so no blockages. The water runs fine when we use the pump from the onboard tank.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance. George.

Hi George, welcome to the forum.

To use a fully serviced pitch with it's own water tap it's best to use a Mains water adaptor to prevent possible damage from constant mains pressure.

HI Parksy, thanks for the welcome and the advice.

Been looking at adaptors and considering the Plug into the side of an Aquaroll option.

Wish I could work out the principle behind it though!

cheers.

The idea is simple: in the side of the aquaroll(or similar container) is fitted an ordinary float valve such as you would find in a domestic cistern. The mains water pipe is connected to this by a snap on connector and as you use water in the van,the float drops and lets water into the drum. You don't even need to pay lots of cash for a proprietary brand, just go to your local plumbing supplier and buy the relevant components at a fraction of the cost. (that is if you are diy minded!)Good luck!

Derek
