My last two boxes just needed about 10 screws removed from the bottom then the top lifted off. They were gel batteries so could be turned upside down temporarily.

In both cases, the batteries were available easily off the shelf. At around half the cost of a specialist replacement.

I lost my first 24-volt charger. (it was in the caravan side locker which I hadn’t locked). I found lots on eBay, Laptop chargers with a different plug fitted. Did a good job, but slower.

My batteries went flat and would not charge so bought some replacement batteries off the Internet. They lasted less than a year, but probably my fault as for a period of 3 months I forgot to charge the batteries even though I had only used the scooter for a journey of less than a mile.

Not worth the hassle of sending back the batteries and eventually gave away the scooter to a charity.

Surely your repair man must have a pair he could hook in to make sure that, the batteries are the problem . Otherwise your just clutching at straws as he said there were other problems as well.

Sorry BB, This is your other buggy, I forgot you had two.

Hi Hutch when i brought this pride apex rapid scooter it was one owner from new and the last owner only had enough money to buy one new battery so it got a mixed pair so i have a brand new battery charger and it still charging but at present cannot afford to buy a new set i am short of readies .unless i sell some of my caravan stuff in the garage .

When i get my new car it having a winch fitted and the scooter will be fitted and when in town it will help my mobility for getting around the shops so just hoping the batteries are up to it.
