Hello Mark,

Check the cover manufacturers instructions, and follow them carefully.

Not having a cover, I cannot comment specifically on the Pro-tec cover, but most windows are manufactured from perspex, which despite feeling quite hard to the touch, are actually quite soft. Even a cotton sheet continually rubbing is likely to abrade the surface.

I used to have a Specialised made to measure caravan cover. I used it only for one winter. Although it was tensioned as to the instructions, I did get marking on the front windows. ( A criss cross effect). These did polish out with a mild abrasive (Brasso).

There was also paint worn awayon some edges, down to the aluminum.

Personally I would never use a cover gain, but other people swear by them.

I have a Protec cover and it does not seem to have any adverse effect on the windows. That does not mean to say the front window is not scatched. it appears as John states that the plastic is very soft and I have obviously scratched it during washing. I used copious amounts of water, hosed it all off first and a soft cloth, but still when the sun shines into the window, I see my home made scratches.

The answer from my dear wife??? Don't look at it if is going to upset you.
