Problem with Truma Crystal Water pump

Hi,

I have a Truma Crystal water pump on my 2002 Swift Challenger, the type that you plug the pump into the housing on the side of the caravan.

When I plug my pump in sometimes it does not seem to get a good electrical connection, you can come into the caravan turn the pump on and open a tap and nothing happens, you then have to leave the pump on, leave the tap open and go back outside to the pump and give it a wiggle in the housing, Instantly the pump will come to life.

The other problem i'm also finding with the housing is that water leaks from the point where you plug the pump into the housing, back out onto the ground, as though this is not getting a tight enough fit either!!

Anyone expericened these problems or have any advice.

Many Thanks.

Andrew.

Andrew,

When you have connected the Pump Feed to the Housing, make sure the securing clips are fully locked, this will give you a better seal. If you still encounter problems with the electrical connection, then slightly prise the Male end open, as this will enable you to have a tighter fit in the Female end,

best regards, Martin

Andrew, clean both the male and female electrical connectors with electrical contact clener, gently open up the + shaped slots on the male connector with a small flat bladed screwdriver.

Replace the O ring seal on the water inlet spigot and lubricate with silicone grease, NOT WD40 or anything else.
