Just got our caravan back from the seasonal pitch in North Wales, we brought her back on monday morning and gave her a full clean and polish, the cupboards cleaned and wiped out, carpets all hoovered and then we came to the empty out of all the stuff we.ve accumalated over the season, just were all the stuff came from I can,t believe we had so much stuff not to mention rubbish we,d collected during our time in there.. Anyway I swear that next year I,m not going to put back all the contents we,ve removed and I swear that I,m not buying new either. So with any luck we should have a clutter free caravan next season and hopefully it will stay that way. Do you think I,m living in cloud cuckoo land or what. No matter how hard I try I always end up the same clutter yet again at the end of each season. I,m I the only one or do others have the same problem as me.
Erica.

Hi, sorry abt using a colour print thought it looked neat. Will stick to black in future. Pity though cos it looked nice.
Our season once started 1st jan and ended 31st dec. These days though the arthritus plays up in colder weather so its stopped us from going out now in the winter. I use a scooter and cover myself in one of those scooter bags and even use a blanket in that, but still my legs, knees etc. ache and I can hardly walk. How I wish someone would find a cure for arthritus and other terrible illness. Can live in hopes though that just one....

We moved from our seasonal on the 24th on to a winter seasonal and have just spent a week there getting used to the new area. First night the water froze as, because we had just moved, we hadn't got round to putting pipe insulation around them. As it was a sunny day it didn't take long for them to thaw and we got sufficient for a drink from the dishwashing area!

Really looking forward to being able to caravan all winter as before finding this 12 month site we have only had the odd weekend away in Winter. Being the only van at the top of a field in Robin Hoods Bay in December was quite fun though. At least we had the loo and shower facilities to ourselves!!!

That's it for me, caravan chocked up weight off the wheels water drained and filter removed, toilet drained and all bedding and soft furnishing removed and stored in the spare bedroom. Service next April and off we go again. Hope the weather is kinder for us next year, the rain seemed to follow us from Scotland to Wales and everywhere else.

This will be our first time caravaning all winter, we agreed that after we purchased a new Lunar Clubman SE that it would have to earn its corn. When we bought it we looked for a van with Alde Heating and all the other systems that make for caravaning all year round, their will be no winterisation this year, we hope to get out on the moores around where we live at the foot of the peak district and get bact to lovely stews cooking in the slow cooker curl up with a wee dram, what could be better.

Ditched our tow car ,so this winter it's time out. We had drooping pipes freeze and split underneath out last caravan as the water laid in the pipes.
We now always open the taps and use a wet n dry vac and suck out all the water and make sure that the pipes do not sag underneath the van and run downhill.

Wife retires in March, can't wait not been able to caravan has much due to her still working, after 40 years working has sister in the NHS time to hang up her cloak and look after the dogs and myself, just think weekends that last 4 days instead of 2, travel on Fridays to come back a week the following Monday, yes not quiet upto the 30 day stint as l still have to do a couple of days a week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays but hey so what better than the five to seven days week l used to do 2 1/2 years ago

We were on a CL near Canterbury last weekend, and on the Saturday evening, a rather large motorhome turned up. (I said to hubby, I bet they're catching the ferry in the morning), anyhow, it rained rather heavily overnight and the chap from the motorhome came over the next morning, and asked us whether we would still be there on the Monday, (4X4 and all that!) as he was concerned his motorhome may have sunken into the ground, and thus made it difficult for him to get off the site (sadly we had to go home). He then went on to say, him and his partner were off abroad for six months - LUCKY SWINES!!!!

Just to add, we caravan all year round, so there's no season for us either. When we bought our 'van new, we couldn't justify spending X amount and leaving it unused for four months of the year!

When I was working full time I always , where possible, arranged far away meetings for a thursday or friday morning. Rather than stay in a hotel we and the dogs went away in the caravan and made a long weekend of it. We gained ,the firm gained, and everyone was happy. I appreciate with youngsters at school it may not be so easy but I for one would not miss the all year touring for anything.

The more I use the caravan in the first three years the more likely failures will occur during the warranty period, hopefully?

The beauty of both being retired is we always go away on Sundays now. By the time we get on site the week-enders have gone plus there are less lorries on the road. The downside is the horseboxes and mushroom heads come out to play on Sundays
