Question for Lutz, Fuel Stations

Don't know if you know the answer to this but I was filling up with fuel at a Shell Garage near Kaiserlautern a couple of weeks ago and when I went to pay I was asked if I belonged to the ADAC. Would you know the reason better still would I have got a discount if I was a member?

Yes, ADAC members get 1 cent discount per litre on all fuel purchases at participating Shell petrol stations in Germany.
