Just had a brilliant Easter. 4 nights £24, 4 evenings entertainment for 3.50 per person and some day activities we missed as well. The children raised £650 for their chosen charity. No charge for dogs, children well behaved and very friendly people. We were with our local caravan club centre at the Easter rally. The CCC run similar called meets.

So what was the downside? None as far as we see. However we use our own facilities and run on a battery.

If you haven't rallied yet give it a chance. The nights are getting lighter and the weather warmer so now is a good time to try it. Look in your handbook for contact details or the clubs' websites. Give someone a call and go. Go to the same centre for at least 4 rallies so folks can get to know you. You can choose to join in what you want but I suggest you to the welcome session and the final one.

Good cheap caravannng.

We tried it on a few occasions and thought it was a load of hogwash attended mainly by snobbish people with their own agendas. I guess we were unlucky with our centres.

Anyway what fun is there in purchasing an expensiove caravan with all the facilties only to sit in some muddy field working off a battery wondering when it is going to go flat.

We spent more than enough time living in the tents in the bush in Africa a long way from the nearest habitation so that definitely has no appeal to us.

It is now luxuries for us, but if that is what tickles your facny go for it as long as you enjoy yopurself that is all what counts.

Not sure what you are on about but we never use the toilet facilities on any caravan site. If we do wander off for a weekend we use CLs instead but with EHU. What gives you the idea that we have an expensive caravan. A 1997 Bailey 470/4 has all the facilities your need.

We don't like rallying like many other people, but there are those that enjoy it and good luck to them because it is doing what you like best.

Sorry Ian I read your comment What fun is there in buying an expensive van to mean you had one.I use CLs with or without EHU, rally fields and sites but it makes me smile to see people taking dishes to wash up with only two people in a twin axle all singing van, going for a wash in the mornings ect ectJ.Lo
