hi, have just come back from great weekend away at Castle Carey park next to Creetown. over the course of our stay the wee yin wanted to sleep in the back bed, i converted the seats to make this and later on as we sat in the front lounge ( havin a dram ) the wee yin lay on the bed with her dvd. i heard a thump and looked around to see that she was lying half off the bed and it was slanted to one side. i lifted the matress off and had a look in below, apparently the slats which are pulled out had moved to one side leading to them coming off the guide rail. i fixed them back in position and away we went agai,. however, it happened again and the wee yin got a fright. is there an easy cure for this if it is a common problem, like putting a spacer or something in between the slats and the edge of the guide rail to prevent them from going off the square ?.

there does seem to be quite a bit of freeplay between them.

cheers.

We had this problem on the middle pull-out slats, front bed, on our 2 berth Avondale Avocet (made an interesting double bed when persons were 'active'). I overcome the problem by fixing a plastic screw cup (with cap) on each end of each of the offending slats. These plastic cups slid easily against the plastic support runners when pulling out and stowing the slats.

Not had any problems since. Domed mirror screws may also do the trick.

How's about a piece of thin plywood, drill some holes to correspond with each side of the slats & sit a 25 x 6mm bolt thro ( one at each side & the slat cant move ) it does not need to be a big piece of ply, then when your not using it put the bolts in a bag & the ply under the bed ??????

used some screw cup covers the ones that you screw in and then close the cap put them on the underside of slats at the edge near the runner on the seat so it can not slide the screw caps act as as stop side to side movement like a train wheel on a track if you no what i mean.Hope you make sence of this its very easy but hard to try and explain,

On front beds if the plastic screw caps are on the underside of the slats then the slats will not slide into their storage slot. Is this the case on a rear bed, or is stowage different?

if so woodland cut some slots out for the caps but move the end stop slat so that dont goe back into the draws or put some more caps beside the old onesto stop it .
