Anyone tell me where I can find this please? This is to check the final piece with regard to my Relay problem. I've had both rear lights off now, cleaned all contacts etc. I must say that the way the the wires were left by Bailey left a lot to be desired. I reckon a child could have put more effort in to carry out this simple task. Whats the general view taken about the method of holding on the light lenses? In fact the whole cluster is a very poor construction and only after 3-4 years, the amount of corrosion in the metal bulb holder plate is very disappointing.

That's one of the reasons i always spray silicon when i buy new.
Even so that didn't stop the "ring" awning light rusting away, with the resultant light working, not working scenario.
Even the Unicorn wiring is thrown in, so Ive done some tiding up myself.
All i can suggest is trying to remove as much of the rust as possible on connections, or fit a replacement.
The lights fitted to the Unicorn are Hella, which are very good, only the poor top rear side lights are the crap old type.

Sorry not sure what caravan you have, the senator was held with two stainless steel screws to the rear cluster, and in 7 years i never changed a bulb, other than the awning light, and a interior spot.
All road lamps were original.

In caravanroad lighting wiring the earth (or more correctly for DC systems the -ve) is a white wire and connectes to pin 3 of each 7 pin car connector.

Whilst I havn't seen the current Bailey wiring, I have found in the light clusters of several other trailers the stripped white wire end just caught under a body fixing screw head clamping it to the metal box of the cluster.- That was not a very good or secure method, and if the cluster got knocked the screw could loose grip and release the wire - loosing the -ve return for the cluster and causing christmas tree lighting.
When ever I came across this, I securely fixed the wire independantlt of the cluster fixing.
Corrosion is not uncommon, and was usually found in two forms, Brown rust just from exposed steel components, green crystaline from the oxidisation of the copper and zink elements, and white crystaline usually from the lead based bulb contacts. All these corrosions will deterirate the electrical contacts and should be cleaned off. A smear of petroleum jelly (Vasaline) or grease will is usually a good way of helping to prevent reoccurence.
For the colour coding and pin designation of the road lighting have a look at :-

Well all cleaned up now and all working with an independent power source up at the plug. As all the lights have their own earth, then that negates any possible reason for an earth to chassis. I asked about the light lense fixing because of the stupid little rubbers including the brass screw inserts that fall inside the back panel if any sort of pressure is also applied when screwing in or out the fixing screws. A little tip, if a corresponding length of shrinktube is put on them, they are a little tighter fit. Now I have only to have the relay in the rear of the car and hope for the best. Watch this space LOL!
