Hi guys

Does any one know how to remove the above fridge from my Luna Jupiter. Unable to have serviced on storage site so need to take to service dealers.

Thanks to Damion and Gary for your advice.

Andrew,

It would be better for you to take the caravan to the service dealer, as the breaking and reconnecting of any fixed Gas Fitting, must be carried out by a competent Gas Engineer.

best regards, Martin

Andrew,

I should have added that any Mobile Caravan Service Engineer will have all the relevant qualifications needed, to service your fridge at the storage yard.

My mobile engineer replaced my 240v element at my storage yard last year.

Have a look for a local one in yellow pages, or try your local caravan dealer, as they sometimes place their business cards there,

best regards, Martin

If you do a search for 'fridge removal' in the search forum section, I've explained how I removed my fridge, so have a few others. However, we are obviously incompetant at anything nowadays so we need 'a qualified' person to tighten a nut. Its easy to do yourself, just don't tell your mum......

Ian, I don't think I can be accused on here or elsewhere of supporting the nanny state or deigning people some help when the question supports it, quite the opposite.

However, sometimes the best advice is simply, get it fixed by an expert.

In this particular case, the fridge has multiple problems and therefore needs someone who knows what they are about to correct all of them.

As for nut tightening, the gland nut of your average brass compression joint is brittle, over tighten and you run the very real risk of the back of the nut cracking.

This I can say with some certainty, causes a leak on fridge gas joints just as often as an under tightened or poorly made joint for any other reason.

So in some cases it ain't quite as simple as it looks!

To end positively, a good mobile engineer is probably the best option.
