How easy is this to do?

Is the itsitu carpet glued/fixed down other than under the units.

Would cushion floor be a more serviceable replacement in frequently used vans.

Cheers

hi replacing the carpet is quiet a straight forward job.

You will need a stanley knife or sharp kraft knife and carefully cut the fitted carpet around all the units and cabinets, It should then be able to lift quiet easily.

If cut and lifted in one peice you can then use it as a template for whichever floorcovering you choose.

I personnaly prefer the feel of a good quality heavy duty carpet in my van however most new vans do come with wood effect sponged floor covering so it comes down to personal preference.

When laying the new floor first make sure you sweep and clean the floor fully and if there is any sign of delamination or spongy patches it would be an ideal time to fix or repair.

Fix the new flooring in place with a spray carpet or lino adhesive to prevent it from lifting or rucking up in future use.

Hope this helps.

Hello Mike

When I replaced the carpet in my van I removed the old carpet in one piece, then put this on top of the new one to use as a template, cut the new carpet a few mm wider and then fit into the van use small nails or double sided tape to fasten down and trim were you have to,very easy.

Regards

Roy
