Has anyone replaced one of these? The flip down lid has become detached so have got a new one coming. The pipe feeding it is rigid , I'm wondering if this is solvent welded or just a push fit. Any tips would be great.
I replaced mine and the rigid pipe was a push fit on my Abbey 620 Vogue. If solvent weld was used and the outlet had to be replaced again at some time in the future the rigid pipe would also need replacing.
on the 3 caravans i have owned the flaps have worn making it impossible to close them. i never bothered to replace mine. and i have noticed a lot of people never bother closing the little flap anyway.
Up to you but think you might be wasting your money replacing them unless you have found some that do the job that they are supposed to do.
Thanks for the replies. The replacement has arrived today.
Parksy - Hope mine is just a push fit then , that sounds encouraging. If it gets warmer I'll have a grovel underneath.
johnandrew - I hear what you are saying but one less entry for a spider has to be good news and a fiver isn't going to break the bank. The replacement looks exactly the same as the original btw.
haha never thought of spiders creeping in although never had any in our vans either, saying that we used to get flie's in there and always thought they found there way in through the fridge vents somehow. time to invest in 2 corks i think
