Just arrived home to find the demand for the next twelve months of road tax. There it was, sitting on the hall carpet, complete with complimentary tissue to wipe away the tears. It's for our motorhome, which is old and rather large, which makes it about as green as an oil rig fire in Texas. Surely, with all the rises in tax justified on environmental grounds, we were in for a hammering. I looked at the amount on the form, £175.00! I think it's actually gone down this year. So thank you Mr Brown, I still won't be voting for you in the next election, but I feel this has been a small victory in a rather large battle. The DVLA is going to get a bunch of flowers from me this year, just hope they don't blow them up.
