Hi Christopher
I'm afraid I can't comment on the site as I have never visited it. I think it might be on the road from New Romney to Lydd, not far from the Airport.
I lived in Lydd from early childhood to late teens. I haven't been down there since 2002 so some things might have changed. It is one of the larger towns on the Marsh dating from Saxon times (but compared to some towns, it is very small). It's got about five pubs, a chip shop, local spar etc plus other small shops. The centerpiece is the All Saints Church and Thomas Edgar, who was Captain Cook's companion is buried there. Lydd has a great smuggling past.
Good beaches are Camber, (sandy beach) five minute drive away (towards Rye), Greatstone although if memory serves me correct that might be shingle. You're spoilt for choice on beaches really. Ashford is good for shopping and is about half an hours drive. My most favourite beach is Sandgate (not far from Folkestone), although it's a shingle beach, there's such a brilliant view of the sea and the tide comes right in, almost next to the road.
Rye is a delightful town situated in Sussex (about half an hours drive away). Rye's history can be traced back to before the Norman Conquest, when, as a small fishing community, it was almost surrounded by water and lay within the Manor of Rameslie. Well worth a visit, has a small harbour too. Try to get in the Mermaid Inn, which originally dates from 1156 and is still the principal inn of Rye.
Hythe is nice for shopping and the military canal runs adjacent to it. Good for picnics.
You can take a day trip from Dover to France. There is lots to do in the area and if the sun is shining, it's the best place ever.
Hastings is well worth a visit too as is Brighton.
If you have small children, there's the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch light railway, you can board at new Romney and it goes as far as Hythe.
A good Kentish pub can be found at Snargate opposite the church (ten minutes drive from Lydd) and is called The Red Lion. They sell real ale which knocks you out. If you do visit there, say hello to Doris if she is still there (she'd be getting on a bit now) and say Lisa from Nottingham, Gordon's daughter recommended it.
Well, that's my bit of selling kent and Sussex, hope you like it.
Lisa
