Route to Benicarlo from Bilbao

In a few weeks time we are going for our winter break, starting at Benicarlo. This is an area we have not tried before. Google maps indicates the N232 from Zaragoza right down to Vinaros, but looking at the map it shows a section around Monroyo as "Road in bad condition". It seems that it we take the A23 down to Sagunto and go north it will be 100 miles further round. Has anyone done this route and offer any advice. We are travelling in a motorhome.

I see what you mean - the Michelin paper map also shows this section as difficult but may be out of date. Try using ww.viamichelin.com hich is the live site and see if it still looks as bad. Try putting in the route with a 'via' or 'stopover in Teruel to force the southern route and then change to the 'shortest' route.

Thanks Ray. Looked at ViaMichelin, it lists lots of series of bends and steep downhills, but nothing about road condition. I went back to Google and managed to follow the road on the camera on a stretch of the "bad road". It looks rutted, but there was a motorhome on it! We will take a chance. You gave us directions to the site at Sabinan on a previous post which has a bit of a rough road, so hopefully it won't be any worse.
