Royan

Hi all, just been doing a bit of research for next years hols and would warmly welcome any help on sites in and around the Royan area for two old crocks lol, no seriously we are geting on a bit in years so we are not really looking for all the bells and whistles, but somewhere reasonably quiet and fairly close to shops restaraunts etc, any recomendations? any help would be greatly appreciated as we are now going a bit cross eyed with all the web searching!!!!!!!!

Kind regards Allan & Gill.

For a really nice site with reasonable restaurant, etc., I would recommend Le Logis de Breuil at St Augustin, about 4-5 miles from Royan. We've been there a few times and it remains one of our favourites. You'll find it on Google.
Regards,
Derek

Sorry, but as good as Le Logis is I would say it was more of a bells n whistles family site run by resort holiday company.
Quieter site http://www.le-clos-fleuri.com/gb.html
Royan - Palmyr is avery busy holiday area, with young kids we've stayed once at Le Logis and at Bon Anse.
Check out Le Clos we think it is more suitable for a couple, nice caring site owners as well.

We love Bois Soleil, it is in St George De Didonne asbout 5 miles from royan, it takes Camping Cheques. Depending on when you are going you may need to book. We have been there for the last 7 years, it is right on the beach, and you can walk along the beach to St George De Didonne

I would second Bois Soleil. We have been there a couple of times, and it is a lovely site. However, whilst it's a lovely walk along the sea front to the town, it's not a two minute strole!

That's true it takes about 15-20 minutes, or if you want to ride it is only about 5 minutes.

We went to Bois Soleil in September last year.
The location is good but a good walk into town along beach or promenade.
There are two parts to the site, one is near the reception and the other part is on the other side of the beach road. We found the pitches a bit tight. We do not have a motormover so had to shunt van in, not push it. I state this as the office said the pitch was big!. I would say it was okay, but go and have a look at pitch before you drive your van in. It was also very busy whilst we were there.
