Hello Paula

When we had 'Sky' fitted in our home we had it without connecting to the telephone line. This is little known about but, if you inform Sky at the time of installation that you do not wish it to be connected to your telephone then for an extra

If it is Sky you want and you have had it a year then you can take it with you with no problem regarding telephone point ,however freeview and the and sat'boxes wich are always being mentioned on Forum can be used, the only problem here is the size of the "suitcase" type dish, you will have to obtain a larger dish somehow and fix this to the balcony. See Forum regarding setting up etc.

Make sure you have a balcony that can "see" clearly in a S, SE or E direction, mid morning sun on the balcony would be a really good indicator.

Some apartments will have rules about visible satellite dishes, the same as some block type developments over here.
