Seen any pothole yet?

We went out for a couple of hour to our local Dunelm mill store brought a 2" memory foam and other thing for the van and the old memory foam is now on our bed, So while driving over there, The workmen only upgrade the road in the summer since we had snow now pot hole are everywhere in a short time,
Must be using cheap material, but strange enough I don't remember seening pot hole on motorway Why?

Because Motorways are constantly monitored for such damage as hitting one at 70 (or more or less) could have a huge disaster in the making.

Rural roads when resurfaced have an "expected" life of some ridiculous figure,,,,,,,,,something like 40 years or more.

pot holes on roads are filled but motorways are done in sections so that it has a good edge the layers are all done as they scalp the surface and a better type of surfaceing is used the minor roads are filled out off a bag of tarmac and not rollerd .

There are hundreds of potholes in the roads around me in Warrington, so much so that last year the local newspaper ran a series of articles on the worst roads in the area. Readers were encouraged to send in photographs of the road in question showing the many potholes in the roads with the aim of shaming the local council into repairing them. This did work for a while but I don't suppose that we will be seeing these new holes repaired within the lifetime of this Parliament with the budget cuts that the Councils now have to find, even though there will be new duty added to the price of fuel next week.
Must give the Council credit though because the week before Xmas some low lives pinched quite a large number of roadside grids, no doubt to weigh in for scrap metal, and these were repalced within a couple of days, despite the inclement weather.
