Can anyone help me to reconnect the wires from the tap/switch for our Adria Adora. The shower unit cover came off and whenever I reconnect the fuse blows.
the wires are: in red, and white.Out brown, and brown/blue.

Hello Badger

Welcome to the forum.

We don't have enough information about the "Shower unit" to be able to identify what you are exactly referring to.

Can you post some pictures? and tell us the make and model of the "shower unit" please. How old is the caravan? And has it been modified in any way?

Hi. Thanks so much for responding.
I think the shower is Alde though the unit has no branding. The heating system is Alde.
Here are some pics of the wiring with the two connectors shown. My problem basically is where to put the connectors.
Cheers

If this is simply a connection from a micro switch in the tap it should make no difference which way round the wires are connected. Presumably it is the pump fuse that is blowing. I would suggest that there is a short somewhere. This should be possible to locate with a multi meter.

Does the fuse blow if the tap is in the off position?

Hi. I’ve tried it again without the two terminals connected at all and it works. I suspect that the connectors are surplus to requirements.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I doubt the terminals were surplus to requirements, caravan manufacturers would not fit them unless they did something.

As JCL has suggested its most likely they are part of the pump control circuit, in which case they would push fit onto the connector block with the red and white wires. The polarity should not be important, as teh switch simply completes the circuit to run the pump.

What is more odd is why the showerworks without them connected. It suggests that another tap somewhere in the caravan is already turned on causing the pump to run... Or a previous owner has changed from a switched tap system to a pressure switch controlled system - in which case the wires are not needed to each tap.

It now raises the question of what is causing the fuse to blow. But which fuse is it thats blowing, can you enlighten us to the circuit involved?

In our current caravan there are a number of wires that seem to serve no purpose, but are obviously there for some reason.
I suspect that the same loom is bought for all models for economic reasons and in some models some wiring is redundant, but in another model those redundant wires are used?
