Is it me, or have the designers/manufacturers of Caravans lost the plot?. We have just recently changed our caravan to a 2001 Elddis Crusader SuperSirocco. Neither the kitchen area sink nor the one in the wash room have an overflow outlet,nor for that matter the shower tray;which could be used to soak tired aching feet. Upon looking at more recent and right upto date vans at the show it would appear to be the norm. I wonder what the reaction would be if an insurance claim was lodged for water damage to carpet or the laminated floor in the van; as a result of an accidental incident?.

It is the norm not to have domestic style overflow on modern vans.
As there is no laminated flooring, just laminate effect lino, that scenario will not happen.
Carpets may be different matter.

Its down to the user in a caravan not to leave the tap running
All water after all has to be collected from the site tap and its in the users interest not to waste it
If that proves trying then a pump saver switch can be fitted
They can be set for a number of minutes and then the pump switches off
If used when showering the set time begins again each time the pump is switched off
I have one for the tank fill pump set to switch off just before the aquaroll empties
This guards against senior moments and the outside pump is never left to run dry
