Site near Maybole on Ayrshire Coast

Hi all

We are thinking of travelling to Ayrshire coast around Maybole at the beginning of June. We are looking for a quiet site preferably with sea views. We like walking in the countryside and are not looking for clubs or entertainment.

Culzean Castle CCC site looks very pleasant but is rather expensive. I've read the favourable reviews.

Has anyone been to Thomaston Farm Certificated Site which seems to be quite close to Culzean Castle. There aren't any reviews of this site but the CCC "Big Sites Book" mentions sea views and sunsets.

We'd be grateful for comments from anyone who knows this area and/or the sites.

Whatever you do, do not use Sandylands Saltcoats Ayr.

i think the sites in Ayr are quite different to the ones around the area. I would stick to the ones outside Ayr.

There is the Walled Garden at Maybole. Very unique.A bit in the sticks (lovely though) but when you arrive it`s got a few interesting things happening.... We loved Culzean CCC too. The Ranch at Maybole looks good when we had a look and good reports.
