Can anyone recommend a site on the shores of Loch Lomond with good facilities, a bar and restaurant and also where you can launch a Jet Ski?

Hi GrahamW - there is a site in Balloch called Lomond Woods Holiday Park. Not literally on the shores but very close to the new lakeside development, and launching facilities. Nice site and surroundings. We have stayed there a couple of times en route from Bristol to the Highlands.

I seem to remember there is a C&CC club site on the other side of the lake, on the shore

Hi Graham,

I would suggest a much better site for your purpose is the Inverbeg Holiday Park part way up the western side of the loch, right on the shore and with launching facilities on site.

There isn't - or wasn't a couple of years ago - either a bar or restaurant but these can be found across the road in the village.

Ardlui Holiday Home Park further north on the same shore DOES have bar and restaurant but is a three-star site as opposed to Inverbeg's four stars.

The sites on the other side of the loch are a Camping and Caravanning Club site (Millarorchy I think) and, further north, a Forestry Commission site. Neither have bar or restaurant as far as I know.

P.S. Russ, there is only one LAKE in Scotland - Lake of Menteith.

Hi Graham,

we have just returned from Milarrochy bay C&CC site which is on the east shore of Loch Lomond, it has no bar or restaurant but excellent showers etc. The site has its own slipway for boats but jetskis cannot be launched there, however they can be launched from less than a quarter of a mile down the road where they can also be registered for use on the Loch [
